About Me
I was born and raised in Cuba, and growing up back home music and dance were an important and common part of our lives. I started doing theatre when I was only six, so acting, singing and dancing became even more prominent in my life.
After moving to Canada, I started doing partner dancing in both Ballroom (Standard and Latin) and Club Latin styles in 2017. I got absorbed into the dance world pretty thoroughly, and by 2018 I had already performed on several occasions in styles including Waltz, Bachata, Salsa, Bachata Cabaret, Argentine Tango, Charleston and Jive. I had also competed twice at the amateur level for Standard (Waltz and International Tango) and Latin (Cha-cha and Jive) categories.
In September of 2019, I began teaching Standard, Latin and Club Latin dances at the beginner/intermediate level, including Waltz, Quickstep, American foxtrot, Argentine Tango, Hustle, West Coast Swing, Cha-cha, Rumba, Jive, Salsa and Bachata. I have also hosted and guest instructed at special events, workshops and socials, using styles such as Waltz, Bachata, Salsa and Argentine Tango.
COVID restrictions in 2020 prompted me to try my hand at solo dancing, so I turned my attention towards line dancing and ladies styling. I have taught these styles consistently since, and they have proved to be some of my most popular classes!
